How To Choose Skin Treatments Over Surgical Procedures

At Douglas Stevens, MD, the initial patient consultation is extremely important.  During our consultation, we take a thorough look at the areas our patients are unhappy with. Our recommended treatments and options available to them are then discussed.

The consultation does not necessarily lead to a recommendation for cosmetic surgery.  There are many times when surgery is not the answer to someone’s concerns nor necessarily needed to improve the appearance, tone and texture of his or her skin.

There are many skin treatments available through our practice that have little or no downtime; however, can restore the elasticity and tone of the skin resulting in satisfying results for our patients. These treatments range from simple crèmes and facials that can be performed at home or by our Aesthetician, Elise Adelman, to intense pulsed light therapies, Sculptra^®, and weekend Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing.

When the skin is healthy and youthful, it has a great effect on one’s overall appearance.
