What is it?

Bellafill^® is a combination of collagen and PMMA microspheres (a well known bio-compatible polymer).  Collagen has been around for a long time and looks good but lasts only 2-6 months.  In this case, the collagen is used to uniformly distribute the PMMA microspheres which stimulate your body to make collagen.  It is this response that gives you results that last five years.  As the injected collagen goes away it is replaced with the collagen that your body makes in response to the PMMA microsphere portion of the Bellafill^®.  New collagen results in the healthy glowing appearance of the skin following injection with Bellafill^®.

Having Bellafill Treatment

In the initial consultation, Dr. Stevens will use digital images and discuss with you the loss of volume in the temple, below the eyes, cheeks and pre jowl regions and how Bellafill® can treat each area of concern.  A skin test is placed and if there is no reaction over 2-4 weeks then the first treatment is performed.  A follow up consultation with photos is performed 4 weeks later to determine if further treatment is required.  Typically, Dr. Stevens likes to see patients once per year after ideal volumization is obtained.
